The Om [ōm] ॐ
A mystic syllable considered The Most Sacred mantra in Hinduism and Tibetan Buddhism. It appears at the beginning and end of most Sanskrit recitations, prayers, and texts.
Seed mantras like OM are no ordinary words with dictionary definitions. These mantras are more about the vibrational content than the meaning.
Frawley again: “Om is the Word of God.” The sound OM is a vibration from which all the manifest universe emanates. Form and creation come from vibration.
OM is the most elemental of vibrations.
Om is a very simple sound with a complex meaning. It is the whole universe coalesced into a single word, representing the union of mind, body, and spirit that is at the heart of yoga.

Om (which is sometime spelt Aum or Ohm) is a sacred sound that is also represented by the Om Symbol you see in so many walks of life. It’s the one symbol the represents the past, the present and the future in completeness.

How to Pronounce ‘Om’
Sometimes om is taught with a long o sound followed by a vibrating m. Others prefer to separate the a and u sounds, so it’s more of an ah-oo-mm.
